Nothing much to see here. Just me doing stupid shit as usual. After I got home from the Armin van Buuren show at Sunburn, and slept a little while, I found myself staring at a few hours of waky-ness ahead of me. Now I don’t know how that transpires into a 160 kilometre trip into a mountain pass, but it did happen. Won’t say much here, instead just spit out some pics from the trip.
The pics are terrible as usual, and I’m not just saying that. Ambolim is a beautiful place, with a deep valley, but I just couldn’t capture it right. Notice the complete absence of those pics. But there’s time to learn. Meanwhile…

I agree. Compared to the stuff you’ve put on Flickr so far, these are pretty ordinary.
I like the nice warm colours of the images. Have you artificially bumped up the colours or are they usually so good in the D3000?
Part of the problem was that I was sleepy. By the time I got there, I had like 15 minutes before I knew I should start heading back or I wouldn’t make it.
@Krazy: Just the levels (except for the second pic where I hijacked the vibrancy for a bit, yielding some terrible results). Just got to make sure the white balance isn’t set to auto, which usually generates cold images.
So you keep changing the white balance according to conditions?
@goobimama The red colour in that last pic is particularly delicious. Did you mess with that as well?
@Aayush That is how you should do it. Auto mode is for teh n00bs. You should either use the presets according to the conditions or better yet, set it manually by pointing the camera to a white object and then ‘telling’ it “this is white” for the best results.
